KETTY SALAFIA

A Life Woven Between Two Worlds

My deep bond with Asia began years ago through Esprit du Monde — a heartfelt project I founded in Switzerland, weaving together lovingly designed holiday apartments, a serene spa, and a boutique showcasing handcrafted pieces from Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and beyond.

On my regular journeys through Asia, I sought objects that carried not only beauty, but meaning — supporting women artisans and honoring the living traditions behind each piece. These encounters opened a lasting connection to the region’s soulfulness, wisdom, and way of life.

Esprit du Monde brought together all that moves me: a love of meaningful travel, a cultivated sense of space shaped by my background in interior design, and a growing curiosity for holistic wellbeing.

It was during this time that Ayurveda and Yoga quietly entered my life.
Ayurveda offered inspiration for balanced living, while Yoga became a source of clarity, grounding, and inner resilience — first as a personal refuge, later as a guiding light.

Over time, my connection to Asia deepened — until I chose not just to travel, but to fully immerse myself in the rhythm of two worlds:
half the year in Sri Lanka, the other in Europe. This movement between continents became more than a change of place — it became a way of life, one that continues to shape my perspective, my values, and my sense of hospitality.

Sri Lanka has long been more than a destination — it’s my second home.
I don’t just live here part of the year; I am deeply connected to the spirit of the land, its people, and its rhythms.

Today, I bring all of these experiences to ZenTrails — a heartfelt project born from passion and presence. As co-founder, I guide mindful journeys that connect people with nature, culture, spirituality, and — perhaps most importantly — with themselves and one another.
